PRINTEMPS EARRINGS & PENDANT

Use size 8 and 11 seed beads, 4mm fire-polished beads and 4mm bicone crystals to make these easy earrings that match my Printemps Bracelet pattern. New for 2026, super-size the beads to make a matching pendant.

Earrings

Materials: Earrings
• About 5 feet of 6lb. FireLine
• About 60 size 11/0 seed beads
• 2 size 8/0 seed beads
• 16 size 4mm fire-polished beads*
• 10 size 4mm bicone crystals*
• Two small 3-4mm closed (soldered) jump rings
• A pair of earring findings

* I used a combination of 4mm fire-polished beads and bicone crystal beads in the text and illustrations for this design but any combo of 4mm beads should work fine.

Step 1: Thread your needle with about 2.5 feet of FireLine.

String a size 11/0 seed bead, a fire-polished bead, a size 11/0 seed bead, a fire-polished bead, a size 8/0 seed bead, a fire-polished bead, a size 11/0 seed bead and a fire-polished bead.

Leaving about a 6-inch tail that you can weave in and cut later, tie the beads in a circle with a tight double knot:

Step 2: Go back around through the beads that you just strung:

Step 3: Go back around through the 11/0 seed bead, the fire-polished bead, the 11/0 seed bead, the fire-polished bead, the 8/0 seed bead and the fire-polished bead highlighted in RED:

Step 4: String an 11/0 seed bead, a bicone crystal, three 11/0 seed beads, a bicone crystal, an 11/0 seed bead and a fire-polished bead.

Go around and down through the 8/0 seed bead and the fire-polished bead highlighted in RED:

Step 5: String an 11/0 seed bead, a bicone crystal, three 11/0 seed beads, a bicone crystal, an 11/0 seed bead and a fire-polished bead.

Go around and up through the 8/0 seed bead, the fire-polished bead, the 11/0 seed bead, the bicone crystal and the 11/0 seed bead highlighted in RED:

Step 6: String two 11/0 seed beads, a bicone crystal and five 11/0 seed beads. Go around through the jump ring and back down through the last 11/0 seed bead that you just strung:

For the Pendant: String one instead of five seed beads:

Step 7: Go back down through the four 11/0 seed beads, the bicone crystal and the 11/0 seed bead highlighted in RED:

For the Pendant: Go directly down through the beads highlighted in RED:

Step 8: String an 11/0 seed bead. Go back down through the 11/0 seed bead, the bicone crystal and the 11/0 seed bead highlighted in RED:

Step 9: Go back down through the fire-polished bead, the 8/0 seed bead, the fire-polished bead, the 11/0 seed bead, the bicone crystal and the 11/0 seed bead highlighted in RED:

Step 10: String three 11/0 seed beads.

Go back up through the 11/0 seed bead, the bicone crystal, the 11/0 seed bead, the fire-polished bead, the 8/0 seed bead, the fire-polished bead, the 11/0 seed bead, the bicone crystal and the 11/0 seed bead highlighted in RED:

Step 11: Go back up through the two 11/0 seed beads, the bicone crystal, the five 11/0 seed beads (only one seed bead if creating the pendant) and jump ring; then go back down through the five 11/0 seed beads (only one seed bead if creating the pendant), the bicone crystal and the three 11/0 seed beads highlighted in RED:

Step 12: Go back down through the bicone crystal, the 11/0 seed bead, the fire-polished bead, the 8/0 seed bead and the fire-polished bead highlighted in RED:

Step 13: String an 11/0 seed bead, a fire-polished bead, an 11/0 seed bead, a fire-polished bead and an 11/0 seed bead.

Go down and around through the fire-polished bead, the 8/0 seed bead and the fire-polished bead highlighted in RED:

Step 14: Go back around through the 11/0 seed bead, the fire-polished bead, the 11/0 seed bead, the fire-polished bead, the 11/0 seed bead, the fire-polished bead, the 8/0 seed bead and the fire-polished bead highlighted in RED:

Step 15: Go back around through the 11/0 seed bead, the fire-polished bead, the 11/0 seed bead and the fire-polished bead highlighted in RED:

Step 16: Go back around through the beads highlighted in RED and the jump ring. You may have to untwist some of the seed beads as you go through them:

Weave your way back into the earring, knot and cut your FireLine. Attach your earring finding to the jump ring.

Pendant

Materials: Pendant
• About a yard of 8lb. FireLine
• About 25 size 8/0 seed beads
• 8 size 6mm fire-polished beads*
• 5 size 6mm bicone crystals*
• A 4-6mm closed jump ring or a closed loop bail
• A necklace chain, satin, silk or leather cord with clasp

*I used a combination of 4mm fire-polished beads and bicone crystal beads in the text and illustrations for this design but any combo of 4mm beads should work fine.

Substitution Instructions

Repeat Step 1 to Step 16 of the earring instructions with the following substitutions:
• Instead of 6lb. FireLine, use 8lb. FireLine.
• Instead of size 11/0 seed beads, use all size 8/0 seed beads.
• Instead of size 4mm fire-polished beads, use size 6mm fire-polished beads.
• Instead of size 4mm bicone crystal beads, use size 6mm bicone crystal beads.
• Follow the For The Pendant instructions for Step 6 and 7.

NOTE: Bead colors and coatings (and even bead types!) seem to be disappearing at a rate that I can no longer keep up with. I try to find substitutes when I can but "discontinued" and "out of stock" seems to be the norm these days.

Turquoise Earrings
• About 60 size 11/0 seed beads: Miyuki #4202 Duracoat Galvanized Gold
• 2 size 8/0 seed beads: Miyuki #4202 Duracoat Galvanized Gold
• 16 size 4mm fire-polished beads: Gold Suede Milky Pink
• 10 size 4mm bicone crystals: Preciosa Rose Opal AB2X

Turquoise Earrings
• About 60 size 11/0 seed beads: Miyuki #4202 Duracoat Galvanized Gold
• 2 size 8/0 seed beads: Miyuki #4202 Duracoat Galvanized Gold
• 16 size 4mm fire-polished beads: Opaque Alabaster Snow White Luster
• 10 size 4mm bicone crystals: Preciiosa Caribbean Sea AB

Turquoise Version:
